Today we drove about 380 miles. We are staying in Kerrville (middle of Texas) for three nights. This is a very nice park and we just decided to stay a few days. It is called Buck Horn Lake RV Park.
We saw about a hundred places like this where the hills were cut out for the road. It was very pretty. Kim and I really enjoyed the drive.
There were few cactus but lots and lots of sagebrush. It was pretty. We saw cows, goats and sheep.
For some reason most of the road was asphalt on the right and concrete on the left.
These are pics of the wind generator blades. They are absolutely huge! I would guess they are 120 to 150 feet long. We also saw the tubes that support the generators and the generators themselves going down the highway. We saw a few hundred of these generators working.
We got a strong south Texas wind today that made driving a bit stressful. Our heavy coach usually handles side winds well but with the road carved through rocks, it made it a little tricky.
Here is a picture of a generator on a semi. We took this last picture in Iowa this summer, but this is what they look like. I think there are 50 wheels on the semi.
By the way, we passed through another time zone last night so now we are on Central time and only one hour different than Indiana.
